OVERVIEW

Variable electrode gap: The distance between working and counter electrode can be varied (d [mm] = 10.0 / 7.5 / 5.0) by inserting different electrode spacers into the 4-port cap.

Multi-functional 4-port cap: The 4-port cap offers feedthroughs (2x ID Ø = 1.6 mm (1/16”), 2x ID Ø = 3.2 mm (1/8”) for the integration of tubes (gassing, inerting, dosing), septi (sampling), sensors (monitoring, reaction temperature control) and reference electrode (voltammetry, potentiometry). The integration of said components is realized employing fittings in combination with ferrules in UNF ¼“ 28 threaded ports.

Gas-tight cell construction: Electrochemistry can be carried out under inert or pure-gas conditions, as component integration into the 4-port cap and sealing of all plug and screw connections with O-rings guarantee a gas-tight experimental setup.

Electrical contacting: Low-resistance electrical contact with electrodes is made via gold coated copper-screws placed lateral in the 4-port cap.  2 mm pins can be plugged into these screws to establish connection to a power supply or potentiostat, respectively.

Duran® glass and PTFE reactor vessels: Glass vessels fit most reaction conditions, for strong alkaline media PTFE vessels are highly resistant to degradation. The outer diameter of these vessels is Ø = 24 mm and their volume is V = 25 mL, suitable for reaction media volumes from 5 to 20 mL.

Defined reaction temperatures:  Precisely controlled reaction temperatures can be achieved with a cell-internal temperature sensor (integrated into the 4-port cap) connected to the PI-heating/cooling-controller of the xelsius reactor workstation enabling dynamic temperature regulation.

ElectroSynth XperteEchem
